She graduated high school and enrolled at [[Wikipedia:Lesley_University|Lesley University]] with a psychology major. However, she had dreams to become a singer. With her parents support, Bom transferred to [[Wikipedia:Berklee_College_of_Music|Berklee College of Music]] in Boston with a vocalist major. She auditioned to become a trainee at [[YG Entertainment]] but failed 3 times. In 2005 she finally passed and began receiving training. Initially, Bom was scheduled to debut as a solo artist in March 2007, but YG decided to debut her in [[2NE1]]. In 2006, she was featured in [[Lee Hyori]]'s Anystar [[CF]]. Bom debuted with [[2NE1]] in March 2009.
